JOB DESCRIPTION: Therapists (Qualified Mental Health Professionals)
Direction Service Counseling Center is a full service mental health
program. Services include comprehensive assessments, individual,
family and group therapy. The individuals who seek service and
support at the Counseling Center include children, adolescents,
adults, and elders. The challenges these individuals face represent
virtually all mental and emotional disorders.
The services and support provided at the Counseling Center are:
evidence based, strength based, and collaborative in nature.
Therapists serve as the primary service provider for individuals
seeking service and support at the Counseling Center. The job
description for therapists follows the steps in the development of
clinical service. These include:
Critical Activities
1. Completing Comprehensive Assessments
Key Components - Collecting information on problems, strengths,
functioning, and individual and family values and routines
Completing multi-axial diagnoses
2. Developing Individual Service and Support Plans (Treatment Plans)
Key Components - Determining client preferences & frames of
reference
Identifying long term goals, measures & outcomes
3. Providing Collaborative Treatment that meets individual goals
Key Components - Selecting, and individualizing evidence based
treatment interventions
Assessing progress toward goals
4. Completing Discharge Documentation
Key Components - Assessing progress toward goals
Providing a description of the course of treatment
Developing plans for the individual’s well-being
5. Developing and Maintaining Clinical Records
Key Components - Following Counseling Center, State, federal, and
contract guidelines and requirements for file development
Therapists also function as integral contributors to the development
and improvement of all Counseling Center functions.
Requirements:
Masters (or doctorate) degree in social work, counseling, clinical
psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
Experience working with children and families—with preference for
experience with young children
Experience working with Oregon Health Plan participants.
Training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Preferences:
Proficiency in Spanish
Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
License or licensable
